FAQ: channels, scheduling, plans, data, API

Short answers to common questions about channels, scheduling, plans, your data and the API.

Updated

Which platforms can I connect?

The ones marked Available in the Channels table and on the Channels screen in the app. The rest are marked Coming soon and open on their own; nothing needs to be done on your side. See also Coming soon.

Can I post to X?

Not yet: X is coming soon. The Channels screen shows the current status. OmniPosts does not show a platform as available before it can post to it.

Will my scheduled posts go out if I close my laptop?

Yes. Posts are sent from OmniPosts's servers at their time. Your laptop and browser do not need to be open.

What happens if the connection drops while I press Publish?

Press Publish again. The same post is never sent twice: OmniPosts recognises the repeat and shows you the post that already exists. See Posts and results.

What does "Checking whether this posted" mean?

OmniPosts sent the post and the platform did not clearly answer. OmniPosts looks the post up on the platform instead of sending it again, so you cannot get a double post. It then marks the result Posted or Not posted. See Posts and results.

Why does it say "Not available" instead of 0?

Because 0 would claim that nobody reacted. Where a platform does not share a number, or OmniPosts does not read it yet, OmniPosts says so and gives the reason. See Honest numbers.

Do cancelled posts count toward my plan?

No. A post you cancel before it goes out does not count toward the month. A post that was sent, that failed, or that is still scheduled does count. A post to several channels counts once. See Plans.

What happens if I go over my plan or move to a smaller one?

OmniPosts stops new connections and new posts above the limit. It never disconnects a channel and never cancels a scheduled post. Plan numbers are on the pricing page.

How do I join the waitlist for Creator and Pro?

Creator and Pro are in beta. Enter your email address on the waitlist. It asks for nothing else: no password and no card. We will email you when they open. The Free plan is open now.

Can I take my data with me?

Yes. Settings has a button that downloads everything OmniPosts holds for your account as a JSON file. You can also delete the account yourself. See Export or delete your data.

Is there an API?

Yes, on every plan. Create an API key in Settings, under Agents & API. Everything in the app is available over HTTP, with idempotency keys and signed webhooks. Start with the Quickstart and the API reference. The interactive reference is at /swagger-ui.html.

What does "Needs attention" on a channel mean?

OmniPosts can no longer post with the saved sign-in. Open Channels and press Reconnect. See Reconnect a channel.

Where do I report a problem?

Write to join@omniposts.dev. If a post failed, include the code shown on the result. If a page in these docs does not match what you see in OmniPosts, tell us as well. The product is right and the page will be fixed.
