Use the queue: set times, fill the next slot
Set your weekly posting times once, then add posts to the queue and let each take the next free time.
The queue is a weekly list of posting times. You set it once, and each post you add takes the next free time. For how it works behind the scenes, see Calendar and queue.
Set your weekly posting times
- Open Settings and find Posting times.
- Choose your Time zone. A list that has never been saved starts in your browser's time zone.
- Next to a day, enter a time and press Add. Add as many times as you like on each day. Times are 24-hour.
- To remove a time, press it. Each time button shows a small
x. - Press Save posting times. The page says Saved.
Under the list, Next free times shows the next few posting times that are still open.
A list can have up to 56 times.
Add a post to the queue
- In the composer, under When, choose Add to queue. Next to it you see the next free time.
- A note says that the post goes out at the next free posting time, in your time zone, with a link to Change posting times.
- Press Add to queue.
The result page says Added to your queue for and the date and time. Each posting time holds one post, so the next post you queue takes the time after that.
Change your times later
Edit the list in Settings and save it. The change applies to posts you queue from then on. Posts that are already queued keep the time they were given.
Changing the time zone changes what the weekly times mean from then on, not the times of posts that are already queued.
If the queue is empty
If Posting times has no times, choosing Add to queue shows "Your queue has no posting times yet" with a link to Set your posting times. Add at least one time, or choose Schedule for later.
If the queue is full
OmniPosts looks 12 weeks ahead. If every posting time in that period is taken, the post is not placed. Add more times in Settings, or pick a time by hand.
From the API
GET /v1/queue returns your time zone, your times and the next free times. PUT /v1/queue replaces
the whole list. To queue a post, send "queue": true on POST /v1/groups instead of scheduledFor.
