Plans and limits: channels and posts per month
Free is open. Creator and Pro are in beta with a waitlist. Plans differ only in connected channels and posts per month.
OmniPosts has three plans: Free, Creator and Pro. They differ in two things only: how many channels you can have connected, and how many posts you can create in a month. Every plan has every feature, every channel OmniPosts supports, and the API. The numbers for each plan are on the pricing page.
What counts as a channel
A channel is one connected account on one platform. Your Bluesky account and your Mastodon account are two channels. A channel counts while it is connected. When you disconnect it, its place is free again.
Reconnecting an account that is still connected does not use a new place.
What counts as a post
A post is one thing you create, however many channels it goes to. A post to five channels counts once. A post made through the API counts the same as one made in the app.
The month is a calendar month in UTC. The count restarts on the 1st.
- A post you cancel does not count.
- A post that was sent, that failed, or that is still scheduled does count.
When you reach a limit
OmniPosts stops new connections and new posts above your plan's limit and tells you which limit it was. It does not touch anything that already exists. If you reach the limit on posts, you can create posts again on the 1st.
In the API this is a 422 with the code plan_limit_reached. The details.limit field is channels
or posts_per_month.
A posting limit on your account
Separately from your plan, OmniPosts may set a posting limit on an account. It counts channels, not posts: a post to three channels uses three. A limit is either per day (it resets at 00:00 UTC) or in total. It applies to you across all your workspaces, and a post made with an API key counts against the person who created the key. Cancelling a post does not give its places back.
When a post would go past it, OmniPosts refuses the whole post and tells you why; nothing is sent. In the
API a daily limit that will clear is a 429 with the code posting_limit_reached, a Retry-After
header (seconds until 00:00 UTC) and details.resetsAt. A total limit, or a post to more channels
than the limit allows at all, is a 422 with the same code: choose fewer channels. details also
has period, maxTargets, used, requested and remaining.
A smaller plan never removes anything
Moving to a smaller plan never disconnects a channel and never cancels a scheduled post. It only stops you from adding more channels or posts above the smaller plan's limits, until you are under them.
See where you stand
Settings shows your plan, how many channels you have connected and, where the plan has a monthly limit, how many posts you have used this month. The same numbers are available from the API.
