Channels
Post to Bluesky, Mastodon and Telegram at once
A channel is one connected account on one platform. Write a post once, pick the channels it goes to, and OmniPosts sends it to each one and tells you, channel by channel, whether it went out. The table below comes from the product's own switches, so it matches what OmniPosts will let you do.

What each channel can do
Every channel has its own limits. OmniPosts checks a post against each channel's limits before anything is sent, so a post that is too long for one channel is caught in the composer, not after it has gone out elsewhere. You can change the text for one channel without touching the others.
Bluesky
Post to your Bluesky account, on bsky.social or a server of your own.
How to connect. Paste an app password you create in Bluesky's settings or, where the Channels screen offers it, sign in with Bluesky and approve OmniPosts on your server's own page. Neither gives OmniPosts your main password.
What you can post:
- Text up to 300 characters, counted the way Bluesky counts them: an emoji is one.
- Up to 4 images (JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 2 MB each), with alt text.
- Links and #hashtags become clickable. Video is not supported yet.
- Threads, a chain of replies to your own post, through the API.
Numbers you get. Bluesky shares likes, reposts, replies and quotes per post, and followers for the account. It shares no views or reach, so those say "Not available".
Mastodon
Post to an account on any Mastodon server, such as mastodon.social.
How to connect. Type your server's address (or paste your handle, like @you@mastodon.social), sign in on your server's own page and approve OmniPosts. OmniPosts registers itself with your server as you connect.
What you can post:
- Text up to 500 characters on a standard server; a link counts as 23.
- Up to 4 images (JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP, up to 16 MB each), with alt text.
- Your server's own limits, read when you connect, are applied before anything is sent.
- Visibility: public, unlisted or followers only. Threads through the API. Video is not supported yet.
Numbers you get. Your server shares favourites, boosts, replies and quotes per post, as it sees them, and followers for the account. No views or reach.
Telegram
Post to a Telegram channel or group you manage, through a bot you add as an admin.
How to connect. Create a bot with @BotFather, add it to your channel as an admin who can post, then paste the bot token and the channel's @username (or a t.me link). OmniPosts checks that the bot can post there before it saves anything.
What you can post:
- Text up to 4096 characters, sent exactly as you wrote it.
- Up to 10 images (JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB each); two or more go out as one album, with your text as a caption of up to 1024 characters.
- Settings: link preview on or off, and silent posts that arrive without a sound. Video is not supported yet.
Numbers you get. None. Telegram does not tell bots how many people saw a message, so every number says "Not available" and why.
Every channel, the same promises
-
Each post goes out once
If a platform does not answer clearly, OmniPosts looks the post up before doing anything else. Where it cannot look (a Telegram bot cannot read its channel), it asks you to check instead of sending again.
-
One result per channel
Posted with a link, failed with the reason and one thing to do about it, or still being checked.
-
Honest numbers
A number appears only where the platform shares it with apps. Otherwise it says "Not available" and why, never a made-up zero. See Honest numbers.
-
The same from code
Everything here works through the HTTP API;
GET /v1/providersreturns each platform's limits as data. See Providers.
A guide for each channel
